The full day in brief

The National Park, End of the World Train & Beagle Channel Day packs Ushuaia’s two classic outings into about eight and a half hours (our breakdown →). The morning is a guided tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park with the End of the World Train. The afternoon is a boat trip on the Beagle Channel past the islands and the Les Éclaireurs lighthouse.

The train ticket is included in every booking of this tour, but the national park entry is not. Foreign visitors pay ARS 40,000 for the park since 1 June 2026, on top of the tour price. The tour starts from $162 on GetYourGuide, and the park, train and 3-hour navigation option came to $190 for an 8 October 2026 date (checked September 2026). It is rated 4.6 from 329 reviews and run by Info de Ushuaia, the operator behind the most reviewed park tour on this site.

The morning: park and train

A minibus collects you from your hotel and drives about 45 minutes out along Route 3. The train leaves from the End of the World Station, 1 km before the park gate, and runs 7 km into the park with a 20-minute stop at La Macarena, where a waterfall and a viewpoint sit a short walk from the platform. The guide meets the group at the far end of the line.

From there the tour covers the park’s main stops: Lapataia Bay and the sign at the end of Route 3, Lago Acigami (listed on the tour as Lago Roca), the Alakush visitor centre, and Ensenada Zaratiegui on the Beagle Channel. The listing notes that Ensenada Zaratiegui is reachable only from about mid-October to mid-May; outside those months the tour spends longer at the other viewpoints. The small post office there is a landmark but no longer operates.

The afternoon: three hours on the Beagle Channel

After the park, the van drops you in the centre, not at your hotel, and there is a break before the boat. The departure point at the tourist port is a few blocks away, and you walk there on your own; one reviewer lost time finding it, so it helps to have the operator’s directions ready. The boat leaves at 2:15 PM.

The standard navigation runs about three hours. It passes Birds Island, with its seabird rockery, and Sea Lions Island, then turns at the Les Éclaireurs lighthouse before heading back to the port with the town and mountains in view. The port entry fee is included.

A longer 5-hour navigation option visits the penguin colony as well. According to the listing, penguin season runs from about mid-October to the end of March, so the penguin option makes the most sense in those months.

Sailing depends on the wind. A September 2026 reviewer reported that the sailing was cancelled for conditions on the day, and the operator replied that sea conditions are outside its control. If the boat matters most to you, a day with some slack afterwards leaves room to try again.

Booking the three pieces separately

The combined day saves planning. Booking separately gives more control over timing and weather. Beagle Channel boat trips are sold separately in town and online, and this site does not cover them. Split up, the park and the boat can go on different days, which helps when the forecast is windy or the penguin option matters. Together, the combo keeps one guide, one booking and one cancellation window, and the free cancellation runs up to 24 hours before.

Cruise passengers can join the combo, and the listing asks them to share their ship’s arrival and departure times. At eight and a half hours it suits a long call. For shorter calls, the shore excursions page covers the ship-timed park and train tour.

A three-day alternative with airport transfers

The 3-day package with the train, a Beagle Channel cruise and airport transfers spreads the same ingredients across a short stay, for $230. It includes the airport to hotel transfers both ways, a half-day park tour with an Economy class ride on the End of the World Train, and a 3-hour Beagle Channel cruise to Sea Wolves Island with the boarding fee, passing cormorant colonies and the Les Éclaireurs lighthouse, with a short walk on Bridges Island.

The operator, Rumbo Sur, contacts you after booking to set the days for each activity, and the park pickup is around 8:00. If wind cancels the sailing, the listing says it can be rescheduled at no extra charge, subject to availability. The park entry is not included, and neither are transfers between your hotel and the port, which is downtown. The package is rated 5.0, though from only three reviews.

Which one to book

For a single day with everything arranged, the combo covers the park, the train and the channel in one booking, with 329 reviews behind it. For a stay of three days or more, the package adds the airport runs and gives the weather more room. For full control, or to put the penguin trip on a calm day, the pieces work separately.
